I've heard other things about the course, I've spoken to a few nurses who graduated last year from it, a few who are current student and the opinion seems to be it's quite well run. I'm also a bit suspicious in that you're posting from a UQ address. Regardless, I've commited to the course with regards to housing and other things, and going out to Ipswich for UQ doesn't sit well with me, nor do I fit or agree with the ACU values.

Thanks for the comment.

I am a student murse and have 10 subjects to go at qut. I just wanted to tell you how shit the course is and that if it's not too late maybe sign up at ACU or UQ where your degree will be a much nicer experience and you’ll not have to complete as many pointless cultural awareness and critical thinking subjects taught by lectures with sub 100 iq’s.

If you want to get a feel for just how crappy the school and its staff are just call up the student help desk and ask for one of the student information officers and ask something out of the ordinary like “can I change these to subjects around”… then wait for the abuse to start. It’s sort of a joke among graduates I talk to on clinical prac’s just how poorly run and mismanaged the school is.

I sound bitter? Yeah I am it’s a really shitty school and even with 10 subjects to go I’m thinking of shit canning the whole degree to study medical imaging just to get away from the place.

I chose qut nursing because it was close to my house I really wish I’d put more thought into it and done some research.

Hi! You brought back memories when you mentioned practising on oranges as it worked for us. Sorry it didn't work for you. It's an old school idea, actually. How we have progressed!

It is probably boring because there is nothing left to challenge you at this point of time.

I hate to sound like an old f_ _t, but it's part of the learning process. You have to learn to crawl before you can walk. All nurses go through it, as you would already realise.

I am sure your other class mates are going through the same thing, so have a talk to them. They may have some suggestions for you.

Once you finish your studies you can specialise in anything that takes your fancy and you will have more. The world will be your (Sydney rock) oyster.

On the other hand, perhaps nursing is the wrong career choice for you. With that comes frustration and a feeling of despair. Anyway it's food for thought. Hang in there, you will be amazed where nursing will takes you & what it can do for you. Regards Peter!

That's certainly good advice, and I'm almost certain that these will evolve over the next three years, let alone five, ten, twenty, but at least I have some semblance of an idea of where I might want to end up one day.

You also mark the first established blogger commenting on my site, thank you for your input.

I'm a big fan of your blog, it's very inspirational.

Thank you!

My advice - give yourself some time, and some experiences. Things will happen to you along the way that will mold and shape you and definitely point you in the direction that you are meant to go. Happy trails!
